| i haven't been following the campaigns as much as i should, but just read two articles that i thought worthy of putting somewhere... this one is about an interview w/rick warren post candidate forum. i didn't see the entire forum (only bits). i thought it was interesting that he called both candidates his friends. i heard one guy on the radio criticizing warren for just smiling and listening to the candidates respond when he would have told the candidate where he disagreed. anyway, i'm encouraged by this article. seems like warren hasn't compromised his values and really wanted to create a non-threatening environment for both candidates where we, the public, could hopefully hear some straight-forward answers. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121944811327665223.html?mod=The-Saturday-Interview these two blog posts are about donald miller's benediction at the first night of the DNC convention. seems like his prayer was a bit vague, repeat of the party platform... i have to agree w/those who commented. i was glad to see he prayed in Jesus' name but "who gave His own life against the forces of injustice"?!? that's part of the reason... so here are the blogs: http://theologica.blogspot.com/2008/08/donald-millers-dnc-prayer.html, http://psalm8410.blogspot.com/2008/08/donald-millers-dnc-prayer-misrepresents.html really need to be on our knees for our country. | | |
| just finished coordinating a wedding. it was lots of work but all worth it. i just took a look at the photographer's blog to see if they had posted any photos yet. they haven't but they had this post that i thought was quite funny: http://76.163.148.217/index.cfm?postID=129. it's about weddings, or rather, wedding photos in china. crazy business! seems like more emphasis is placed on the photos than the ceremony. and many people get married, then take photos, and sometime later have a ceremony/reception. now, time to get some rest and back to organizing the house! | | |
| since i got back from my trip to florida in early march, i have been trying to organize and clean my house especially since joshua is walking now. i made some progress but kept procrastinating on a plan. then i came across some blogs (www.moneysavingmom.com, http://orgjunkie.com/, http://www.biblicalwomanhoodonline.com/blog.htm) that gave me more ideas about things to do and what kind of woman i wanted to be like. anyway, yesterday i listened to an old focus on the family broadcast that they re-aired last friday titled "managing your home and time" (http://listen.family.org/daily/A000000509.cfm). the guest talked about how to organize your home by spending 15 minutes a day using the simple tools of 3 trash bags marked "put away", "give away" and "throw away". today i got out my trash bags and got started. i guess i should take some before photos/videos but then that would take more time. maybe i'll take some pictures tomorrow. i just wanted to write that this is the official start to my organization. we'll see how long it takes. hopefully my house will be organized sooner rather than later :) | | |
